I had a procedure at 17 weeks pregnant with a child I lost a baby. But for you to stand on this floor and to suggest as you have that somehow this is a procedure that is either welcomed or done cavalierly or done without any thought is preposterous.

I thank the gentlewoman for her powerful comments. On top of everything else, we passed one law which was the Hyde amendment, that said you can't use Federal funds for medical abortions, so Medicaid was not made available for that purpose…
This is so egregious. And I think the American people need to sit back for a moment and think about as something like that happened in their home, how would they feel their sanctuary.
Words matter, and Members of Congress who speak in those kinds of terms should be called out.
What has happened in this country has happened as a result of Donald Trump giving license to people to spread the QAnon message and to attack.
