Before I recognize the subcommittee chairman, I want to indicate to the gentleman from Ohio who just spoke, Mr. Latta, that he was giving a speech on the wrong rule, that this bill does not pertain to the rule that he mentioned in his comments. I hope this committee will initiate a detailed investigation examining this network of front groups and trade associations, determine who funds them and expose how they coordinate with industry.
The House's need for all the facts surrounding suspected Presidential offences cannot of course be circumscribed by an executive determination of what is relevant.
What the Constitution does not allow is our leaders breaking the Constitution, or the law, to serve their political needs.
