“what should be made very clear is that after years of expanding the coverage of the minimum wage to hard working Americans in agriculture and sweatshops and other employment, what in fact we are now doing is rolling back and repealing the benefits of the minimum wage. So the gentleman is the first author of a minimum wage bill that is rolling back the benefits to people who are currently covered. All they have to do now is change their job and they lose the benefits of the minimum wage under his chairmanship. So the hallmark of this Republican Congress is they are uncovering hard working Americans who currently earn the minimum wage from the coverage of the minimum wage protection.”
