Access to the internet is not optional. It is how Americans learn, apply for jobs, access healthcare, and stay connected to one another.

Allowing this authority to lapse was a failure. To add insult to injury, it was a completely avoidable failure.

It is hard to overstate the economic and national security implications of that lapse.
