In March of this year, Senator Padilla and I, along with 21 of our House colleagues, wrote to you and Secretary Vilsack requesting that the Federal wildland firefighting agencies continue the transition to meet the challenges passed by what is clearly becoming a year-round fire season and we have never to date had a response to that letter.
