First of all, sometimes we respectfully disagree with the President. I think that this $8 billion in cuts to bring us back to the Budget Control Act of 2011 is reasonable given the very difficult times we are faced with now and the fact that, of all the government agencies, the Pentagon has benefited the most from generous funding. We've got plenty of outdated and unnecessary Cold War-era weapons systems that can and should be canceled. I think this is a reasonable amendment. I would now like to yield 1 minute to the gentleman from Oregon (Mr. Schrader).
