This is a quote from their letter to the Wall Street Journal: Our companies' experience complying with air quality regulations demonstrates regulations can yield important economic benefits, including job creation, while maintaining reliability. Kind of amazing, isn't it? And there is Gerald Ford, the Republican President who signed the Safe Drinking Water Act in 1974--also under attack, by the way--who said: Nothing is more essential to the life of every single American than clean air, pure food, and safe drinking water. Yet if you look at the Republican plan, they roll back clean air regulations and they roll back food safety. Even after we had people die from contaminated cantaloupe, my friends on the other side think now is the time to cut back on food safety inspection. Give me a break. Who are we here representing? This is why people across the country are upset. They see things such as this and they say, is this Alice in Wonderland?…
