Usually it was their mom or dad. Just looking at those kids with spina bifida, with kidney problems, with muscular dystrophy, or with multiple sclerosis, trying to live their life with some dignity, relying completely on these payments, it seems to me, I say to my colleagues at this late hour, even if it is late, this is a little sacrifice to make when we think of those children and the sacrifices that they make every day of their lives and the sacrifices that their families make every day of their lives. It is shameful that we would walk away from these children. It is shameful.”
