“I thank my friend because she has been such a leader. I was listening to every word she said, as well as Senator Inhofe talking about the mother who was killed because of a bridge collapse. This touches our hearts as family members. Yes, as Senators, but as family members we know those families will never be the same--the family, the children of that mother, the families of those who are grieving the loss of their relatives. I ask my friend, who was so early on a supporter, is she aware that seven States have either canceled projects or completely shut down their highway and transit spending? Is she aware of that?”
