“Thank you, Mr. President. I add my voice in support of this bill. I want to thank, particularly, the chairman of the committee, Senator Chafee, the ranking member, Senator Baucus, and Senators Kempthorne, Reid, and the other members of the committee, who worked so hard. I am very proud of this particular bill because, first of all, we won on the issue of consumer confidence reports. I disagree with my friend from Wyoming, because he thinks they will confuse people. I think people are smarter than that. I have always believed in giving people information. The way this information is portrayed will be clear and simple, and I think it will be easy to understand. If it is not, it can be revised so that it is even easier.”
