“We don't have any offshore oil drilling very much anymore in California, but I am familiar with the big spill that occurred in Santa Barbara, which was so devastating that our State said never again, and our Governors, Republicans and Democrats, have said never again to drilling in State waters. Now, I can't give the Senator an answer to his question, but I have seen Exxon Valdez, and I have seen the great damage that has been done in my home State, as we study what happened in Santa Barbara. It is fortunate we don't have much offshore drilling in my State anymore, so I would be happy to have my friend put that in the Record.”
