Would the Senator yield for a question? I wish to engage my friend in a colloquy. We are very fortunate, the Senator and I, because we chair important committees here. Of course all the committees are important--the Budget Committee and I the Environment and Public Works Committee. Both of us have worked hard to get important bills through the Senate--Senator Murray, the budget of the United States of America, and for me, the Water Resources Development Act, which deals with making sure the infrastructure around our water, our ports is sound. About 500,000 jobs go along with it. The Senator's is critical because it attacks the issue of jobs and deficits and the rest. So it seems to me--and I want to know if my friend agrees with me-- there is an agenda the Republican House can embrace to deal with what is concerning the American people, such as taking the Senator's bill, the budget bill, to conference after they went out and campaigned all over the country saying we did not want a budget. We pass a budget, now they are stopping the budget; picking up and passing the water resources bill, or their own version of it if they want; certainly dealing with comprehensive immigration reform, which is critical. I was disheartened to hear Speaker Boehner say: Well, I am not that interested in comprehensive immigration reform.…
