we will tell those stories and we will counteract the stories we hear. In closing, I wish to say--because I know the Senator from Oregon has been waiting patiently--the reason I took to the floor to talk about health care is to make the point that it is the middle class and the working poor who are truly being helped--that is so important in this time of income inequality--and make the point that we make sure we extend the unemployment compensation to the long-term unemployed as they, through no fault of their own, are trying to keep their house and home together, which is so critical. I thank my six Republican colleagues who showed courage, stepped up, and allowed us to get on this bill. I hope we pass it. I yield the floor. The PRESIDING OFFICER (Ms. Heitkamp). The Senator from Oregon.
