“Let me strongly disagree with my friend from Oklahoma. I am merely quoting him. I would be happy to ask the Chair to have read back his exact quote. He said abortion is not a fringe benefit. It is taking the life of an unborn child. Therein lies this debate. That is what he believes. He has said it in his own words. I say to him that a woman's right to choose is legal. It is a legal health benefit for her to have that option. And to take it away from 1.2 million women who happen to be Federal employees and then to stand up here and say no, you wouldn't take it away from women who work for corporations, even though they get billions of dollars in subsidies, is an inconsistent position, in my view.”
