Political Quotes

On the recordSeptember 30, 1999
The number of dollars that would have been lost in the school year 1999-2000 as a result of the Republican tax cut was $5.273 billion in the first year, this year that we are talking about. They were willing to give to the wealthiest people in this country $5.273 billion in the school year 1999-2000. All we are asking is to take the latter part of that figure--the $5 billion we are not touching--the $273 million. When it comes to priorities, I think this vote is very important.
