what we do here makes a difference in people's lives. We have peer-reviewed studies that show if the Collins amendment passes and we go back to square one, we will see 8,100 premature deaths per year, 5,100 heart attacks per year, 52,000 cases of aggravated asthma, and--talk about jobs--400,000 lost workdays per year. Why is that? What the EPA is trying to do under the Clean Air Act is make sure we don't have too much arsenic in the air or too much chromium, lead, or mercury. These are devastating toxics, especially to our children. The manufacturers of boilers say there will be many jobs created. I submit this letter for the Record. They say anyone who tells us otherwise is not a boiler manufacturer and doesn't know what they are talking about. Senator Wyden, an original cosponsor, is off this bill because the EPA has worked with him and managed to answer his concerns. Please vote no on this amendment.

I think what our governor is doing, he's saying to the president without so many words, this -- this is a moment we have to come together for the people who are hurting. And by the way, you don't attach strings about, you know, voting to…
There was a violent attack on our Capitol on January 6. We know what we saw. We knew it then. All these Republicans and right-wing commentators knew it then. And they decided to step back and not tell the truth. And the truth is coming out.
They've sold their soul, this party used to be called the Grand Old Party. And now it's a cowardly party of lies.
We have to have the people who were Republicans before really just drop that label and either become Democrats, if they can’t get themselves to do that, to become nonpartisan, independent voters.
