On the recordJune 19, 1996
I say to my friend, very seriously, if you look a woman in the eye who decides to exercise her legal right to choose, that she has a certain frame of time in which to make that painful, difficult, personal decision with her God, with her doctor, with her family, you do not put her on a plane. That is not an elective procedure. My friend can view it a different way, but I seriously question the fact that this is an elective procedure when a woman finds herself in this circumstance.
