Mr. President, I want to put into the Record a letter from 195 doctors and scientists who are alarmed at this Murkowski amendment to repeal the endangerment finding. I ask unanimous consent to have this letter printed in the Record. There being no objection, the material was ordered to be printed in the Record, as follows: January 19, 2010. Dear Senators: We--the 195 undersigned endorsers--urge you to oppose an imminent attack on the Clean Air Act (CAA) that would undermine public health and prevent action on global warming. This attack comes in the form of an amendment by Senator Murkowski to the debt limit bill (H.J. Res. 45) that would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for acting on its finding that global warming endangers public health and welfare. Because the EPA's finding is based on solid science, this amendment also represents a rejection of that science. The EPA's ``endangerment finding'' is based on an exhaustive review of the massive body of scientific research showing a clear threat from climate change. The 2007 Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) found that global warming will cause water shortages, loss of species, hazards to coasts from sea level rise, and an increase in the severity of extreme weather events. The most recent science includes findings that sea level rise may be more pronounced then the IPCC report predicted and that oceans will absorb less of our future emissions.…

I know it is a holiday. God knows I know that. This year Hanukkah and Christmas come at the same time, and my grandkids celebrate both. I want to go home, but the people who depend on the water to support the salmon fishing industry may…
Reserving the right to object, I am not going to object, but you said 80 minutes. Who has the other--the reason I am asking is, I didn't know if I needed to yield time to the other side, which I prefer not to since you have your own time…
Well, not only is it this whole notion of moving water from one interest. I would call the salmon fishery a critical interest--not only in my State. That is why I hate that it is called the California drought. It impacts not only…
Yes, I have. I wish to say, since our friend is here--I am not doing anything, an attack on anything, and I never would. It is not my way. I am going to ask unanimous consent right now, Senator Cantwell, without losing my right to the…
