I am very sorry it took this tragedy, and I am sorry for some of the actions that have been taken; but I am really glad that we are focusing our attention on what is frequently ignored or forgotten--and that is to help address this problem of abandoned mines.

I believe the only response to this is to make sure that the fleet is big enough and flexible enough to meet congressional requirements.
From NTSB's standpoint, lives are priceless. And all lives--we should do everything we can to save lives and to prevent tragedy.
I personally remain cautiously optimistic, but I also still believe that transitioning away from fossil fuel is the most effective strategy for saving the planet for our children and for our grandchildren.
