The text of the amendment is as follows: At the appropriate place in subtitle E of title XII, insert the following: SEC. _. SUNSET OF AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE. (a) In General.--The Authorization for Use of Military Force (50 U.S.C. 1541 note; Public Law 107-40) is hereby repealed. (b) Effective Date.--This section shall take effect on the date that is one year after the date of the enactment of this Act. The Acting CHAIR. Pursuant to House Resolution 590, the gentleman from California (Mr. Schiff) and a Member opposed each will control 5 minutes. The Chair recognizes the gentleman from California.
