when it comes to drug trafficking, CBP reports that over 83 percent of smuggled fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine is discovered during vehicle inspections at ports of entry where people enter the country legally, not smuggled by migrants but driven across the border by U.S. citizens engaged in criminal activity at ports of entry.
Schiff provides statistics to clarify that drug smuggling is primarily conducted by U.S. citizens, not migrants.
