some States are, through their legislature, showing the priority of passing laws which will incarcerate their serious violent criminals longer. It is the purpose of this bill to assist those States. There are two pots of money, and we believe that virtually every State, if not in fact every State, would qualify under the first.

If prosecuting cases involving the risk of injuries or death to premature infants are not a priority enforcement matter, I have questions about what priorities the DOJ considers worthy of pursuing.
It's critical that taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and with full transparency and oversight, but removing billions in federal funding from another California project is not the right approach.
We respectfully urge the Commission to evaluate these renewal applications based solely on the factual record and the governing statutory standard, free from political considerations.
