I want to thank the gentleman and my good friend from California for his amendment, which I am very happy to support. An important role of Congress and of this bill is to ensure that our intelligence agencies protect sensitive information and protect taxpayer dollars. This amendment supports both of these goals by requiring that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence report to Congress on its continuous evaluation process for security clearances and to compare those processes to those the Department of Defense uses. This comparative study will help identify places where we may be able to make improvements and save money. I want to thank Mr. Farr for his amendment and his diligence.
