We write to express serious concerns about the Mining Clarity Regulatory Act, which represents an unprecedented, de facto giveaway of America's cherished public lands to mining corporations.

Mr. Cole's bill would simply restore the Secretary of the Interior's authority to take land into trust for all tribes, regardless of their date of Federal recognition.

This amendment says that this act cannot take effect until the Secretary certifies that the Bureau of Land Management and other Federal permitting agencies have sufficient staff and funding to actually comply with the deadlines established…

My bill, the Clean Energy Mineral Reform Act, would do just that.
