I think our concern really is the loss of that professional election administration and the drain, not just in Arizona, but across the country of folks that do this work.
As the lawsuits mounted, so did the threats against me and other election officials. Orange jump suits were mailed to county supervisors. They were protesters outside of my house. I had to have 24-hour security.
They put this pressure on particularly Republicans. I did not experience the same kind of thing in my position, to choose loyalty to their party over our country.
What I can tell you in Arizona, is that we write the election procedures manual, which requires approval by the Governor and Attorney General.
