John McCain was a prominent American politician and military officer who served as a United States Senator from Arizona from 1987 until his death in 2018. A member of the Republican Party, McCain was known for his bipartisan approach and commitment to national security. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was a prisoner of war for over five years, an experience that shaped his political career and views on military and foreign policy.
John McCain has seen the enormous benefits of that, and he knows very well that the last answer in these troubled times is to raise taxes on working men and women.
I believe that I have represented the hopes and dreams and aspirations of Hispanics in my state. I was proud to have received over 70 percent of the Hispanic vote in Arizona in my last re-election.
I think he can do it. I like John McCain. I think he's got a lot going for him. But it's not going to happen naturally. He's going to have to make it happen.
I know we have to unite the party. I'm doing that. I'm showing them my record and I'm standing on that record. But I also think the important aspect of this campaign is the vision and the ability to lead this nation in the 21st century…
I congratulate both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton for the campaigns they've run. They've gotten voters engaged. We will do that, as well.
I stated during the passage of that law that a fair reading of the prohibition on cruel, inhumane, and degrading treatment outlaws waterboarding and other extreme techniques.
They'll promise to break with the failed politics of the past, but will campaign in ways that seek to minimize their exposure to questions from the press and challenges from voters who ask more from their candidates than an empty promise…
