We know, absolutely know, that roughly one flight a day is going into Damascus filled with arms and weapons for the use of Bashar Assad.

None of which were the redline articulated by the President of the United States.

If I could just follow up on Senator Corker's question, it is well known that we are delivering bundles of cash to President Karzai.

I think the American people need to know what is being done with their tax dollars.

This would clearly be an abrogation of the public trust.

The Senator, like so many Americans, is clearly outraged by ever-increasing cable bills.

I support Senator McCain's bill as a first step toward broader reform.

I truly believe that a lot of Americans are fed up with the size of their cable bill.

In my view, the aa la carte option is a nonregulatory and consumer-friendly way to provide consumers with the freedom to lower their bills and pay only for what they watch.

So I believe the consumers are at a tipping point when it comes to their monthly pay-TV bill.

I think that is outrageous.

It is time to restore the proper operation of the market by empowering American consumers.

I support aa la carte and I believe most Americans do for the basic reason that consumers shouldn't have to pay for television channels they don't watch.

You are either not going to get your new assault vessel or you are not going to get the amphibious ships or the amphibious ships will not be the level of readiness that you need.

A $3 billion lesson.

Let me close by expressing my concern for Marine Corps readiness.

Just as a comment, Mr. Chairman, is it not true that with all this equipment coming back from Afghanistan, the load on these depots is dramatically increased?

I think it might motivate Members of Congress and the American people to understand how devastating the effects would be.

When you look at the costs of the high speed in the water issue, in retrospect, it is just nonsense.

I hope that we would make the American people aware of the effects of another, I believe, $52 billion reduction in defense spending.
