“we were told that Saddam Hussein had built some 70 palaces just in the last 10 years during the time of the sanctions for food program, or the oil for food program, where every drop of oil revenue was supposed to be spent for the benefit of the Iraqi people, for food or for medicine. Instead, Saddam Hussein spent an estimated $2 billion building palaces for himself and the people of Iraq surely suffered during that time.”
