So could you at least commit to myself or more importantly the Chairman, could we have the design plan?

I am elated to hear that it is--because as you know, so often we base public policy and spending and then later find out there was something horribly wrong in that model or the underlying samples or just outright fraud to get the grant.

It is just--it is a real concern.

I am uncomfortable using the word fraud but how many outliers we are finding where really bad data is being used in peer-reviewed studies, publications, grants, and how do we fix that?

I have a fixation on baseline data sampling because I believe it often ends up--you know, we often talk about the modeling that you and I know your first sin is always--or your first cornerstone is in how you choose to collect the data.

as you know, for many of us who are, you know, free speech advocates, we always have a concern that we are paying for NSA sin in perception.

Well, but no. We had already had several occasions on this Committee where we have reached out to--is it ERDDA--and said share with us the advice you are giving to certain agencies and we don't get it back.

One of my real concerns here is that, you know, as Americans we are all free speech advocates but I believe the head administrator of ICANN now has often spoken that he would like a U.N. body.

I am a great believer that sort of egalitarian access, you know, crowdsourcing of information and data being available is crucially important.

Similarly, future generations will be the ones who will suffer if we don't take immediate and meaningful steps to confront climate change.

Unfortunately, too many of my colleagues choose to ignore the scientific consensus that human beings are playing a significant role in the warming of our planet.

This isn't about climate change. It's about expanding federal power and it sets a dangerous precedent.

The Administration's rhetoric is disingenuous at best.

I have repeatedly said that I am for an 'all of the above' approach to energy production as we transition to clean energy technologies.

These rules are simply a thinly veiled attempt to prevent new coal power and eventually take down natural gas.

It looks like the President is keeping that old campaign promise--to bankrupt coal.

I will beg of you as we go through this hearing, I see this is a technical hearing, help us raise our level of technical understanding of this technology.

It always makes me nervous when a technology like this is here in Congress because it means we are paying attention to you, and let us face it, when the bureaucracy pays attention to a technology, we often try to regulate it or screw it up.

The President has made it clear that, in the absence of Congressional action, his Administration is going to take the lead in efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Your expertise is invaluable in helping this committee understand the practical and sometimes negative and damaging effects of EPA rulemaking.

So I think we do need to give a little bit of leeway to those immigrants.

I look forward to working with our Committee and Subcommittee as we push the President to clearly articulate a commitment to deep space exploration.

I wholeheartedly encourage the President and again with this Committee and look forward to working to push the President to clearly articulate what that strategy is.

If we set a goal and we clearly articulate that goal, I think to quote General Lyles, never underestimate what the American spirit can do.
