SNAP and our Federal safety net programs are a hand-up, not a hand-out, and many of us on this Committee once utilized the program.

As you heard me say before, I was born and raised on Tribal land in Arizona, and we got our energy from a generator at the river, the White River.

I am honored to serve as Chairwoman of this crucial Subcommittee and want to publicly express my full commitment to crafting impactful, lasting policy.

We want to make sure that our Tribal communities are treated equitably and that they have renewable energy technology to rely on.
