“I thank the gentleman from Ohio. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the unwavering dedication and years of exemplary service of House Speaker John Boehner to our great Nation. As the Delegate to the United States of House of Representatives from American Samoa, I am always honored to address the Chamber, even more so today, so that I can acknowledge the sincerity, kindness, and years of hard work of a man that I have known for over 20 years. As a man who has gone from the humble beginnings of a night janitor to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Mr. Boehner is the perfect example of the American Dream fulfilled. It demonstrates that, with hard work, dedication, and a strong moral compass, one can achieve great things in our great Nation. From the humble beginnings of a child of 12 who used to sweep floors to second in line to the Presidency, not too shabby. I believe that the fact that he rose from very humble beginnings to the Speakership has made him the man and leader he is today, one who always made even the lowest ranking freshman feel at ease and included, and I thank him for that.
