We favor tax cuts, but we do not favor a bigger debt. We are not in favor of running up the debt another $5.7 trillion. We are not in favor of our children having to pay off this debt. We are not in favor of not having a budget, not having a spending plan that will protect our children and protect Social Security and Medicare like both parties have over and over promised to do; provide an education for our children; do a better job for our national defense; take care of our farmers and our agricultural industry in this country and provide better infrastructure. We all know we have to do that to be a successful Nation, and at the same time we can have these tax cuts but we need to have a budget first. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I remember in 1995 when the leadership on the other side of the aisle stood before this House and talked about how they wanted to see Medicare and Social Security wither on the vine. It is a matter of public record. It is not speculation…
