Well, we could go on and on about this. I have several pages of questions and probably what I will do is submit a few to you all in writing along with some of the other senators who could not be here today.

So it sounds like a lot of that will save the taxpayers money, if not in the first year, but in the out-years you will save?

Given the size of the project, I am just concerned--I want to make sure, I should say, that every step of it is properly competitively bid.

You would be saving $500,000 over what you are paying currently.

Let us see. Let me ask, if I may, Terry, about the $1.2 million request to relocate your printing, graphics, and direct mail operation.

So in other words, you are paying more there but you are getting more space.

The total cost of this project is how much?

That would be great.

I would like to see a breakdown of each of those and how much we are paying per year.

Is part of that the contractor issue, where they contract some of this out?

Okay. So, do you have a set of recommendations on how they should handle this?

Okay. And does it sound like they are taking those steps?

The administration believes that the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program, the PTFP, at NTIA is no longer needed now that the digital transition is complete.

I noticed that there has been a lot of violence around the border area--especially to the south of us, but certainly it is spilling over into the United States.

I know that you are very aware of that, but I am glad to see that there are a number of Federal agencies, including the FBI, who are trying to work on this.

I think that's a great goal; I think, like Senator Shelby says, everybody agrees with that.

And are there new technologies that are coming online that may indeed be safer and maybe should be implemented?

I think one thing that at least some of the Members of the Committee have, maybe all, is just this lack of clarity on what IST means and how it will be applied.

As always, she is showing great leadership and I think really is trying to set the right public policy and the right course for the country.

I'm glad to hear you say that.

I know that's in the President's budget, but have you made a decision on what--how you're going to fill those slots?

We recognize the data and the trends, that's the reason why we're going to do the broader inquiry.

I hate to see the Secretary have all the fun.

Does NHTSA have comprehensive data from Toyota on everything that's going on with this unintended acceleration?
