Mark Pryor is an American politician who served as a United States Senator from Arkansas from 2003 to 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, he focused on issues such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure during his tenure. Pryor was known for his moderate stance and worked across party lines on various legislative initiatives. He was re-elected in 2008 but lost his bid for a third term in 2014, marking the end of his Senate career.
I commend Senators Klobuchar and Nelson for their continued leadership in alleviating this critical public health and safety issue.
I'm hopeful the same thing will happen with the legislation that I've introduced here.
As the Chairman of the Consumer Protection Subcommittee, I believe this is an important consumer protection issue that requires this Committee's scrutiny and collaboration.

I think that Senator Klobuchar and I, we get it, and we're going to try to do something about this as quickly as we can.
Senator Klobuchar, who's been a leader in the area of carbon monoxide poisoning prevention, has introduced S. 1216, the Residential Carbon Monoxide Safety Act.
Let me just give the Committee one very quick statistic, and that is that, a year ago, there were 162 toy recalls; this year, there has been 38.
I just want a moment to congratulate David Strickland, here, on his nomination. He's going to do a great job there.
