If your boots on the ground are not there, it is not happening.

You know, we say one thing, and yet--and again, you are the Federal Government. I am the Federal Government. We cannot continue to put additional burdens that actually go against what we are saying.

The common theme I hear from farmers and other rural Arkansans... is frustration with misplaced priorities and misguided policies.

Shouldn't we be doing everything in our power to address this and other issues that will very likely negatively impact global commodity markets for years to come?

Competition is high, but also in these rural communities they do not have the ability to get the grant writers.

Federal policies and regulations can have an outsized impact on the economy of rural America.

Access to safe and reliable water is critical for all Americans.

I want to thank you and Chairman Carper for having this so, so very important hearing.

I have heard from several ag interests that there is a perceived shift at the CFTC to become an agency which is heavy on enforcement.

I congratulate all of you on your nomination and your willingness to serve our country.

It is certainly worth repeating that today's hearing is historic in that not only are we considering four highly qualified nominees but four highly qualified female nominees.

I want to reiterate that regulation and innovation are not mutually exclusive, and that is what we are all working to achieve.

I think the urgent first step is to provide the CFTC with the authorization and the resources and funding needed to oversight certain parts of the market.

Should the CFTC be given an expanded role in regulating digital asset spot markets?

As of now, there is a gap in the oversight of digital assets. This poses a danger to the American consumers and could threaten the resiliency of our financial markets if left unchecked.

Can you briefly explain what digital assets are generally used for and how they are regulated?

I appreciate the Administration for their support of the President's 2022 budget request for the Three Rivers Navigation Project.

Partnerships between the Federal Government and the agricultural community are imperative to address species management and recovery.

It is important that VA personnel are aware of the channels that are available to them to report unwanted actions within the VA.
