Bruce Eugene Westerman is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Arkansas's 4th congressional district since January 6, 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Westerman has focused on issues such as natural resources, forestry, and environmental policy during his time in office. He has been an advocate for sustainable forestry practices and has worked on legislation aimed at improving the management of public lands. I think there are some valuable things in Representative Huffman's legislation, but I think that certain aspects of the process that are used now by the councils are working very well, and they don't need to be disturbed.
Your testimony indicates that there are some concerns that the councils may have with Mr. Huffman's bill, and, namely, that it decreases the regional flexibility.
It is only fitting that he is the acting Subcommittee Ranking Member for this hearing. He is the true expert in this field.
