If you work for a living, you shouldn't be in poverty.

I believe that it is essential that cooperation between the United States and EURATOM continue.

More and more Americans were working harder and harder for stagnant wages and falling closer and closer to the poverty line.

This is not a handout. It's a helping hand.

I revere the responsibility that I have been given, and I am not going to abuse it.

I cannot sign and, indeed, would have to veto a bill that pretended to reform the health care system without providing a system by which everyone is covered.

It is broken. It is unfair.

The reality is, and everyone knows this, that while we have the best health care in the world, people who have health insurance today might not have it tomorrow.

We believe that we have to keep Medicare but that we have to recognize that the present system is heavily tilted toward institutionalized care.

The benefits package ought to be comprehensive enough to encourage primary and preventive health care because that saves money over the long run.

I do not have any information that anyone has done anything wrong.

I urge all Americans to observe this month with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
