Republicans continued to tell us time and time again that no children would be cut off from SNAP. Now here we are, with over 80,000 Alabamians – including over 23,000 children – having access to food ripped away while billionaires got permanent tax breaks in the same law.

The opponent doesn’t change the focus. The focus has always been and will always be the people of this district.
This bill came out of committee with unanimous support, with no one voting against it, and so we anticipate something like this being able to work its way through and get on the House floor soon, but we don’t know exactly when that will be.
That’s why it is vital that we continue to push back against these redistricting efforts, against the gerrymandering efforts that we’re seeing across the country.
There's been a lot of efforts by some to paint this district as a lost cause, saying that we lost a majority Black seat in the state of Alabama. But neither is true.
