While these funds will provide some much-needed relief to our rural hospitals, we cannot forget that this funding came at the expense of kicking at least 10 million people off Medicaid.

There's been a lot of efforts by some to paint this district as a lost cause, saying that we lost a majority Black seat in the state of Alabama. But neither is true.

This bill came out of committee with unanimous support, with no one voting against it, and so we anticipate something like this being able to work its way through and get on the House floor soon, but we don’t know exactly when that will be.

That’s why it is vital that we continue to push back against these redistricting efforts, against the gerrymandering efforts that we’re seeing across the country.
