Richard Shelby is a former United States Senator from Alabama, serving from January 3, 1987, until January 3, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Shelby was known for his work on various committees, including Appropriations and Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. Throughout his tenure, he focused on issues such as military funding, economic development, and infrastructure improvements in Alabama.
As a result of this lack of cooperation, according to the Government Accountability Office, our Government's war on drugs is not as productive as it should be.

This is a sizable sum with our budget, considering the funding constraints that the Federal Government faces.
I would have trouble, Madam Chairwoman, supporting a budget that is poised to eliminate a real manned space program, and instead maintains the fantasy of one.
A lot of us feel that the Census Bureau should not partner with organizations that have shown systemic problems with both accuracy and legitimacy.
The proposed budget has welcome increases in the areas of science and exploration, and maintains aeronautics funding at an acceptable level.
But I believe that a lot of this responsibility lies with the Justice Department.
