It hasn't been good and the American people don't like the idea that we're separating families. We never really intended to do that.
I've not so jokingly said, for years, Congress will pass anything on immigration, as long as it doesn't work.
I see the fact that no one was being prosecuted for this as a factor in a fivefold increase in four years in this count of illegal immigration. So, yes, hopefully people will get the message.
I think there's a bipartisan opportunity to join together and say, once and for all, we believe we should have a lawful system of immigration.
