Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The Public Record
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the President of Ukraine, having taken office in May 2019. A former comedian and television producer, he gained prominence through his role in the television series 'Servant of the People,' where he played a schoolteacher who unexpectedly becomes president. Zelenskyy ran for office as a political outsider, campaigning on anti-corruption and reform agendas. His leadership has been particularly noted during the ongoing conflict with Russia, where he has sought to rally international support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit.
I want to thank you, the people of the United Kingdom, such big support from the very beginning of this war.
The war began when Russia brought this war to our country. And they are not right.
I’m grateful to the U.S. for their support. I'm very thankful to -- to Americans for all your support. You did a lot. I'm thankful to President Trump and to Congress, bipartisan support.
I'm thankful to President Trump and to congress's bipartisan support...We are strategic partners, and even in such tough dialogue...I think that we have to be on the same side...to stop Putin.
During the war, everybody has problems, even you. But you have a nice ocean and don't feel [it] now, but you will feel it in the future.
I will be very direct and ask Trump if the United States will stop support [for Ukraine] or not.
I will not accept [even] 10 cents of debt repayment in this deal. Otherwise, it will be a precedent.
It is Vladimir Putin who is responsible for the fact that it is currently impossible to organize free, transparent and democratic elections in Ukraine.
Trump was living in a 'disinformation space' as Ukraine cannot hold elections during periods of martial law.
We look forward to continuing our joint work with Germany to protect lives, bring real peace closer to Ukraine, and strengthen Europe.
If it is peace for Ukraine, and if you really want me to leave my post, I’m ready.
