Wes Streeting: “There is a huge amount of talent on the front bench and the back bench of the parliamentary Labour Party.”

I met one Royal Marine who was developing underwater drone technology but testing it in a pond in his back garden because the regulatory hurdles to test in other environments were too high.

I applaud his ingenuity and drive for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, but there should be the same can-do approach in his workplace.

I also expect my department and our armed forces to live within their means.

I think there is clearly more to do, as evidenced by what we saw last night.
