Kanishka Narayan: “It is right that the British public shares those worries, for jobs, for the pace of change.”

I’m not guaranteeing that it’s going to go the right way, but what I am guaranteeing is that I’m going to work every hour, every day to try to make sure it goes right.

The best case for it is compelling beyond our dreams: a reindustrialised Britain, stronger national security, public services transformed for the better.

The evidence base is clear, the motivation is very clear and I wouldn’t do the disservice to teenagers of saying they’re all going to switch it off.

But if that is our defining belief, we must be prepared to put it into swift action, and we must do so now, meeting this critical moment.
