It is true that half or more of them would receive some subsidy, which would reduce their costs, but around half of them will pay more. In Tennessee, Blue Cross Blue Shield, which covers about one-third of Tennessee's individual market, estimates the premiums for those individuals will increase by 30 to 45 percent under the Reid bill.
