I’m not sure which economists you mean because two very prominent ones, Lord Jim O’Neil and Andy Haldane, have both said that a devolution drive that brings power to all parts of the country could be game-changing when it comes to levels of UK growth.

If the UK wants to build global companies, we need to be globally competitive. To do that, we cannot have Britain's start-ups simply sell up.
