Alistair Carmichael: “There is no justification for islanders to be treated less favourably or subjected to unclear and unjustified…”

I would be “cautious” of making any significant changes, “imperfect” though the current system is.

There is no justification for islanders to be treated less favourably or subjected to unclear and unjustified requirements when accessing services on the mainland.

I am delighted that Europcar has apologised and that they have offered my constituents a full refund of the costs they incurred as a result of this error.

While they are in Scotland the FCA would do well to reflect upon their failings in the Midas fraud. They ignored the warnings and everyday people lost out as a result.
