The Glenelg ferry is both a valuable community resource and a little piece of history on the west coast.

I would hope that the landowner could be prevailed upon to recognise that this is not a significant commercial enterprise and extracting an ever-increasing toll is not just or practical.

If a sensible compromise cannot be hammered out, it would not surprise me if the community were to push for a legislative solution and I would back them in doing so.

I’d also like to see Highland Council working more with families and communities to address absences.

It is very concerning that the Highlands have some of the highest absence rates in the country.

The Scottish Government needs to do more to tackle the harms that have persisted following the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly around social isolation.

The sense of closing asylum hotels in town centres in the South of England while opening an Inverness asylum barracks similarly poorly located defied logic.

This is the right outcome, and it is a result of the strength of feeling shown by residents, and by the military families connected to Cameron Barracks who made their concerns heard from the very start.
