I want to challenge all of us to renew our commitment to protect and preserve God's precious gift to us, our earthly home.

We know that we can improve the environment and the economy at the same time.

This Act will protect unique natural resources that will continue to be enjoyed by all Americans for many years.

It is the story of our intensifying determination as a people to conserve and restore our precious natural resources.

We stand together to pass the Earth on to our children with our livability initiative for less traffic congestion and more green space.

How do we preserve the environment as we grow the economy?

We have to prove that we can grow the economy and improve the environment.

We have to prove that we can grow our economy while we improve the environment and public health.

We can never create the 21st century America we want for our children until we do not think of economic growth as divorced from the preservation of the environment and the public health.

We've got to face the environmental challenges of today and tomorrow.

I applaud all of the communities that have drawn together and dedicated themselves to the goal of healthy rivers, now and forever.

This river initiative is all about honoring one of our Nation's oldest, most enduring values, to preserve for future generations the Earth God gave us.

We have the opportunity and the deepest of obligations to leave our children and our grandchildren a healthy, thriving planet.

The Federal Government has a special responsibility to lead in developing clean energy solutions and in reducing Federal energy consumption.

We must all do our part to protect the environment.

Americans have demonstrated time and again that we can protect our environment while growing our economy.
