We are better than that.

Drugs place a tremendous burden on the global community.

We are a good, decent people.

Now, everybody here, almost by definition, has lived out that American Dream.

It was about a commitment that the American people were making to each other.

Every day I wake up understanding how many folks are struggling out there.

We have obligations to each other.

More than half of this nation is now considered middle class.

We're two societies that are woven together by millions of family and friends, by common interests and a shared future.

Are people being nice?

It coarsens our culture, and at its worst, it can send signals to the most extreme elements of our society that perhaps violence is a justifiable response.

Our Nation has adhered to the rule of law as the foundation for a safe, free, and just society.

The arts and the humanities enhance the vibrancy of our society, inspire us and strengthen our democracy.

I'm absolutely confident the people of the Middle East are working hard to build a society based upon justice.

It makes no sense.

I know that America today is still blind to the poverty in our midst.

I am my brother's keeper. I am my sister's keeper that makes this country work.

We need to question the world around us.
